How do I measure my dog for a collar?

Take a tailor's tape measure wrap it gently around the largest part of your dog's head.

No tailor's tape measure? Then take a piece of string or light rope and wrap it gently around the largest part of your dog's skull and mark the place where the end meets the rest of the string. Then measure the string with a ruler or construction tape measure.

Do this twice to be sure, particularly if your dog is a wiggler

Are there dogs you don't recommend this collar for?

Breeds known to have thin tracheas. These are usually the really tiny breeds and it's unlikely someone with a breed of that sort would be visiting a website for a collar for difficult to handle dogs. Also, dogs diagnosed with respiratory problems. Used properly the collar won't be a concern anymore then any other training collar and less then most. However again as with any collar it is no more then a tool and any tool can be abused. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact John to have your questions answered.

Are there dogs this doesn't work on?

Not when it is used correctly. However the collar has a harder time staying up high with dogs with extremely short coats and has to be adjusted more often as for safety reasons the sliding locking knot is designed to keep people from snugging it too much.
